Junior High School students from Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) earned top honors at the 55th The Outstanding Students (THOS) Awards, held on April 11, 2026, at the Bacolod City Government Center Main Lobby.

Organized by Junior Chamber International Bacolod (JCI Bacolod), the annual awards ceremony celebrates students who exemplify excellence in academics, leadership, and community involvementโ€”recognizing young individuals who embody the values of service, integrity, and outstanding character.

Leading this yearโ€™s awardees was Elisha Karlynne C. Caรฑet, who was named the 55th THOS Awardee of 2026, demonstrating leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to community service.

Caรฑet also received several of the ceremonyโ€™s most distinguished recognitions, including the Best Bid Book Award, Youth Leadership Excellence Award, Harishi Nandwani 1982 JCI Bacolod Local Organization President Award, and the Casa Esteban Award.

Her triumph marks a significant milestone not only in her personal journey but also in the history of BTTHS, as she becomes the sixth Taytungian to bring home the prestigious CHECK trophyโ€”a symbol of outstanding student leadership and serviceโ€”after a two-year hiatus.

Meanwhile, Rhianna Jayde I. Tan was recognized as one of the Top 10 Finalists, distinguishing herself by receiving the Best Academic Excellence Award, Youth Leadership Excellence Award, and the World Energy Award, highlighting both her academic performance and her advocacy for energy awareness and sustainability.

School officials said the studentsโ€™ achievements reflect the institutionโ€™s commitment to developing well-rounded learners who excel not only in academics but also in leadership and community engagement.

The results of this yearโ€™s THOS Awards underscore the continued efforts of BTTHS to nurture future leaders and responsible members of society.
