With hands in the mud and hearts in the cause, Taytungians actively participated in a Mangrove Planting on the 25th of August 2025 at Barangay Punta Tay Tay, Bacolod City. To reiterate its irrevocable commitment to environmental responsibility, Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) consolidated its student-athletes, teachers, and community members into a joint effort to safeguard and improve the areaโs coastal environment. A total of 1,000 mangrove seedlings were successfully planted, marking a significant contribution to the sustainability of the local ecosystem.
The activity was not only a concrete expression of contribution towards the well-being and robustness of the local environment, but also imbued the participants with a deeper sense of environmental stewardship. Through their active participation in hands-on conservation activities, the student-athletes and members of the surrounding community developed an enhanced understanding of the interplay between human actions and ecological consequences.
The initiativeโs success accentuates BTTHSโ commitment to the creation of an environmentally aware and action-oriented school culture. By engaging in such activities, the school not only provides essential insights and skills, but also shapes a new generation of responsible citizens who are environmentally sensitive and ready to respond to the issues brought about by a transforming worldโone step at a time, starting with sports. The combined efforts that resonated with the hearts of the student-athletes who volunteered planted a lasting positive impact on the coastline; guaranteeing a greener and cleaner tomorrow for the region and its community.
