The BTTHS Student Council Organization spearheaded the General Student Orientation to officially welcome students for the opening of school year 2026–2027 at Bacolod Tay Tung High School on June 26, 2026.
The program begins with the blessing of a new car donated by the family of the late Mr Alfonso Luis G. Tan to the school, followed by an opening prayer led by Taytung Voices and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem by the Music Program.
School principal Engr. Philip P. Carpina then delivered his opening remarks, encouraging both new and returning students to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the new academic year.
“You are exactly where you are meant to be,” Engr. Carpina said.
The orientation continued with an intermission performance by Pop Dance Level 2, followed by the introduction of faculty and staff to formally present the people who will guide students throughout the school year.
Another intermission number by Pop Dance Level 1 and Junior High School students led the uniform presentation, where students were reminded of proper school attire and appearance guidelines, and together with them is Harmony, the school’s official mascot.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Jhona Mae Cabasan reminded students to make the school year meaningful by staying active, respectful, and committed to learning.
“Let us make this year one filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences,” Ms. Cabasan said.
The orientation concluded with a closing performance by Armonia Band, bringing the main program to an end and marking the official opening of the new school year.
Following the program, students proceed to their respective classrooms for their in-class orientation with their advisers, where class expectations, schedules, and important reminders for the school year were discussed, setting the tone for a productive and meaningful academic journey ahead.
