A Chinese Garden Cultural Exposure Field Trip, organized by the Community Involvement and External Linkages (CIELO) in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the Chinese, Science, Technology and Livelihood (TLE) Departments, and the Student Council Organization (SCO), brought 13 representatives from nine clubs and organizations to three temples in Bacolod City on August 16, 2025, to gather inspiration for their upcoming Chinese garden design competition.
They visited the Bacolod Yong Tho Taoist Temple, the Fa Tzang Temple, and the Yuan Thong Temple, where they learned about Chinese architecture, Buddhist practices, and the role of botanical and zen gardens in culture. These visits gave the students valuable insights and inspiration for their garden design projects.
The field trip offered students a valuable opportunity to immerse themselves in Chinese culture while drawing inspiration from authentic architecture and landscape. Beyond preparing for the upcoming Chinese garden design competition, the experience deepened their understanding of cultural values and traditions.
