Does it ever get boring? Sitting and lying around all day, doing almost nothing? Do you try to search for entertainment? Does doing schoolwork every second of every day tire your brain cells? Well, worry no more for cycling is the perfect outdoor activity to fix your boredom!

Imagine waking up early in the morning to the cold breeze and the sound of roosters. Riding through town, climbing mountains, taking it to the trails, and seeing places that no big vehicle could reach. This is what cyclists experience every time they go out for a ride.

Ever since we were all put in quarantine, all of us tried to find ways to keep ourselves as entertained as possible. Some would try to learn new skills, workout and some even travel to see nature at its finest. Well, cycling has all three squeezed into one! New cyclists would not only pick up the skill of biking, but they also get to do cardio exercises and at the same time travel and enjoy. Cycling is most fun with friends, thus, it creates bonds through their shared passion.

If you don’t have a bike, they come very cheap at the local market but if you’re not in the mood of spending a few thousand pesos, you could always rent a bike for less than 300 pesos and have a lot of rental shops to choose from.

However, going out cycling means engaging with other people and putting oneself at the risk of accidents. We must all remember to take extra precautions while riding. Also, since we are still in the middle of a pandemic, we must still observe proper social distancing.

Nevertheless, cycling is the best way out for all of us. Whether we want to get out of boredom, stress, and whatever else drags us down. A day riding our bikes will bring us joy in all forms.

“Cycling has helped me overcome my boredom and it has definitely taken away the stress that school works have brought me. But above all, it has helped me bond with my friends more.” – Noor Rivera, Taytungian cyclist.

“I am personally very fond of traveling but I always travel by car. I wanted to see the beauty of Negros and I want to have fun with my friends and also exercising my body while doing so.” – Kent Uy, Taytungian cyclist.
