The 34th United Cup Track and Field Meet
Sheena Grace Lim, Fourth Year A
Last 4th and 5th of April 2009, our school's track and field team competed in the 34th United Cup Track and Field Meet at Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Manila. The Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation organized this meet and other schools who joined were Trinity Christian School, Philippine Academy of Sakya, St. Stephen High School, Chang Kai- Shek College and many more. The competition was composed of primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
We left for Manila on the 2nd of April and were supposed to arrive the next day, but because of many delays, we arrived in Manila on the day of the competition.
Though we did not have enough rest from our travel, we still played and tried our best. The elementary boys and girls were the over¬all champion. In the awarding ceremony Jean Mitchelle Morales and Mary Anthony Diesto were hailed the most valuable players for the elementary. After the 2-day competition, we went to the Mall of Asia, then to Star City. We really had fun.
The objective of these sports activities is to help us become independent, self-confident and disciplined.
