ROBOTICS - An Application of Modern Computer Technology

The Computer Department conducted a seminar on Robotics Training for Teachers" as a preparation for the 75th Jubilee Anniversary of our Alma Mater. It was held last April 15-17, 2009 at the Chiao Kuang Building.
It was organized by the Computer teachers and the coordinators. Ms, Jonah Micah Pang acted as the Guest Facilitator throughout the whole program. Ms. Pang is a researcher as well as a trainer from the Genetic Computer Institute. The program was divided into 3 parts. The first part was consisted of the registration, the opening ceremony, the invocation done by Mrs. LudyJueves, a welcome message by our principal Mrs. Nilda Monge, the presentation of the participants, and Mrs. Auggie Torrecampo introduced the Guest facilitator. On the first afternoon of the sessions they gave on introduction to robotics, the history of robotics, the construction of their first-ever robot, as well as some games. The following day there were discussions about genetic introduction, basic robotics programming, introduction to censors, rebuilding a robot with censors, construction and design programming, and the continuation of the first robot-making. Introduction to Microcamp, Robopica, RobolS and Robostamp were saved for the last day. After all those demonstrations and activities, they finally reached the open forum , then the culmination activity. Certificates of participation were then awarded to the participants.
