Nutrition Month

It is said that "HEALTH IS WEALTH". Indeed, it is very true. For as iong as we are healthy we can do our work well and we can continue our daily task smoothly.

Healthy lifestyle should start from the day we were born and should be deeply rooted in our home through our parents so that children would continue the habit as they grow up. The follow up stage should bi in school through the teachings of our teachers.

For the month of July, we celebrate the Nutrition month with the theme "Wastong Nutrisyon ay Kailangan, Lifestyle Disease ay Iwasan". In the Kindergarten Department, we encourage children to eat healthy and nutritious foods through our feeding activity which is done every Friday. As part of the month long activity, the three basic food groups are introduced so that children would be aware and have the full knowledge about healthy foods. On the first Friday, the Go group of foods which helps their bodies grow strong and healthy was discussed.

On the second Friday, the Grow group of foods which gives them energy to do their daily activities in school and the community was also talked about. Lastly, on the third Friday, the Glow group of foods which will give them the vitamins and minerals to keep them healthy and helps boost their immune system to fight against diseases was also given importance. As for the culminating activity, Multicare Pharmaceutical Phils. Incorporated was invited to host a health program to give the children useful information on how to develop a good and healthy lifestyle. It is an opportunity for them to promote their own products and distribution of samples to children is part of it.

This is our simple way of celebrating our "Nutrition Month" and in helping our young learners to be aware that indeed, "HEALTH IS WEALTH". So better start early and stay healthy.
