Before the Track and Field Competition happened, most of the students were excited but some wondered if the event would be postponed because of the weather just like some of the previous years. Days before the event, announcements were made to students about the approval of the event as scheduled. Though it was approved, a single thunder during the day, means a no and a postponement will be derived.
With oly a sprinkle of raindrops our most controversial sports event took place as scheduled on July 18,2007. If the event had been postponed,
it would have been a similar situation las year where students had gone mad syaing, "Why in the world did they postpone the event? When there is not even a single raindrop!". Fortunately, with a very hot and good weather, the terrible drama last year didn't happen again.
The competition was held at the Pana-ad Stadium. The elementary students from Grade Four to Grade Six and High School from First Year to Fourth Year participated in the event. The Juniors sold snacks and packed lunch to keep everyone from being hungry.
The activity started with the parade which included the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and raising of the Philippine flag, a prayer, the school banner, and the class banners, and the Oath of Sportmanship of the players. At last, Instramurals 2007 is now officially open!
With little changes, the events were still as follows, the 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 1500M, 3000M, 4x100M, 4x200M, 4x400M, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, High Jump, and Long Jump. This climax of the activity was the implementation of Tug of War. Each team in this event consist of students in each group. In a stunning upset, the underdogs, Grade Four students overpowered the active Grade Five and the mighty Grade Six to become the first championis of the Tug of War in elementary level. Meanwhile, in the High School's level, the Junior and Seniors fought for the title, but it was the Juniors who took the final step and won the rivalry.
A few injuries were suffered. Many students got sunburns from being in the parade and competing in the Tug of War and even just cheering for their batch. Despite of those, the Track and Field competition was a success. No one went home dissapointed.
